ABOUT US

Prairie Valley Baptist Church was founded in 1872.  We are a conservative congregation and affiliated with the Baptist Missionary Association of America, the Baptist Missionary Association of Texas and the Ellis-Hill Association.  Through our association with other churches in the BMA we support missionaries around the world.  The church shared facilities with the Prairie Valley School until the late 1940s when the school consolidated with Whitney.  A new sanctuary was constructed in 1984 to accomodate over 300 in worship and in 1994 the old school building was removed for the construction of our Family Life Center which houses most of our Sunday School classes and offices.  The FLC is complete with a gymnasium and kitchen and is used for fellowship meetings, etc.  Part of the old school building is now opened as a "museum" on special occasions.  On the grounds is a tabernacle built in 1926 and is still used occasionally.
