Dr. George Barna states, "The Holy Spirit can change any person, at any time, in the blink of an eye-- but on the average, such bold change does not happen among teens and adults. If a biblical worldview foundation is not in place by a person's thirteenth birthday, they are highly unlikely to become a devoted and passionate follower of Jesus Christ before they die ." (Barna, Raising Spiritual Champions, pg. 7)
It is for this reason that we take the discipleship of children very seriously at PVBC. We have a passion at PVBC for teaching Biblical truths and godly living to children on a level that they can understand. Our children's department is permeated by a systematic and chronological study through the Bible. We also emphasize godly character and holy living as truths of the Word of God are applied to everyday life.
God created the home so that children's parents are the most impactful people in their lives. It is for this reason that PVBC realizes that if we are to lead little ones to God and grow them deep in the faith, PVBC must work closing with and involve the child's parents in every way possible in the discipleship process. So, PVBC seeks to support and involve them in the children's spiritual growth, and even tries to provide resources to help the parents build a firm foundation into their children.
